The Farthing coin is worth one quarter of a penny. The uselessness of the farthing led to its end; however, it became obsolete on the last day of 1960.
Design[]
The design has varied over the years. Classics have the same design as the GBP 1 Penny Decimal, which is Britannia with a lion, the two illustrations depicting the British Empire. In the near end of the Farthing, a picture of a Wren was on the back.
